Pitbull Studio are a video games developer founded in 2009 in Sunderland (a small city based in the North East of England). We specialise in creating stunningly visual games and applications and working on or with revolutionary new technologies.

Managing Director

Robert has over 20 years of programming experience working on pretty much every major platform since the Commodore 64.

Titles that he's worked on include Destruction Derby, the Test Drive series (4, 5, 6 and Overdrive), Test Drive Off Road, Big Air, Demolition Racer, LA Rush, Stranglehold, Mortal Kombat vs DC, Wheelman and Dust 514.

Art Director

Steve has over 16 years experience in art in the video games industry, over 9 years of which at a Lead Artist/Art Manager level.

His experience spans multiple art disciplines (including Characters, Vehicles, Environment, Rigging & skinning. UI, animation & traditional pixel art and animation). Steve has a diverse portfolio of published titles, including racing, sports, open world and health & fitness genres, released across several platform generations - from the old Commodore Amiga & Atari ST to the current generation PS3, Xbox360 & Wii consoles.

John Gibson

Lead Animator & Lead Character Artist

John's roots are from a strong traditional art background with over 12 years in the games industry, centred on the character creation pipeline, conception, through to modelling, rigging and animating characters for game and cinematic. His leadership, skills, passion and understanding of character style, anatomy and animation techniques makes him the ideal choice to lead our character and animation department.

Leigh Swift

Lead Programmer

Leigh graduated with a first class BSc in Computer Science at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. After his last year at university he competed in the Dare to Be Digital games development competition in a team of 5 as the programmer. Past experience has included programming radar test equipment at BAE Systems and, previous to joining Pitbull, Leigh was programming at MySapient building a new online social gaming network "The Wonderverse".

Chris Wood

Senior Programmer

Chris has been a games programmer for over 8 years, originally with Pitbull Syndicate he began writing tools followed by major contributions to the PS2 version of LA Rush. Since then Chris has worked on Wheelman, the first (and so far only) open-world driving game written for Unreal Engine 3, and the Need For Speed racing games Shift and Shift 2 Unleashed. He doesn't write physics code despite having a physics degree. He enjoys C#, tinkering with computers and being pedantic.

Andrew Brown

Senior Programmer

With over 9 years worth of games development experience and a BSc in Computer Games Programmer, Andrew has worked on 20 games - amounting to over 45 SKUs. Before joining Pitbull he worked on the critically acclaimed Shift 2: Unleashed (part of the Need for Speed series) and on Wheelman.

He has an addiction to purchasing cheap Steam and Indie games - and absolutely hates being called Andy.

Terence Burns

Programmer

Originally from Belfast, Terence graduated from Central Lancashire University with a degree in Computer Games Development. With past experience as a mission scripter on Ubisoft|Reflection's Driver franchise, he joins Pitbull as a programmer, initially working on Unreal Engine3.

Barney Photo

Barney McManners

Programmer

Barney has extensive experience with Graphics and Visual Effects programming having work on Nascar 2011 and Auto Club Revolution. He has worked with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Android and iPhone implementing the latest in cutting edge graphical technologies. He graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Degree in Computer Games Development, specialising in graphical programming.

Peter McWilliams

Programmer

Peter recently made a career switch to Computer Games Programming following a sucessful career working for the past 12 years in the Business and CRM consultancy sector. In 2011 he graduated from Newcastle University with a Masters Degree in Computer Game Engineering.

Jason Cambell

Programmer

Jason graduated from GMIT, Ireland with a First Class BEng in Digital and Software Systems before working for Ericsson, the telecommunications company, where he was part of a knowledge transfer of the PEM Broadband Management System to Ireland. He then continued to work as part of the design team for PEM before deciding to reskill, completing a Masters Degree in Computer Game Engineering at Newcastle University in 2011.
